6 Sines

Sum of 6 sines with periods in a harmonic series 200, 100, 50, 25, 12.5, 6.25 and amplitudes 100, 200, 300, 500, 800, 1600 (Fibonacci sequence). Spectre IDs waves with 100% accuracy, but Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) misidentifies the relative amplitudes and the 6.25 short period, and exhibits substantial leakage. Click image to enlarge.

FFT vs FOS

Spectre IDs two superposed sines at periods 30 and 31, each present an integral number of times. FFT single spike reports incorrect periodicity, can't separate the spectral lines or identify wave amplitudes, and exhibits leakage.Click image to enlarge.
